it's hard work photographing swallows: even with a thousand of them on hand, they jet in and out vastly faster than my camera can usually focus. working on a windy day helps a bit as it slows them down. one has to wonder what it is they are consuming, and in this shot i beheld the tiny spec that was apparently the focus of this violet-green swallows intent. some kind of gnat i guess.
