puzzles are supposed to be really saturated, crowded and bright, and that's what i was trying to achieve with this panoply of arid west texas wildlife and birds. a touch of the hill country too, i guess, with the bluebonnets, but strict accuracy wasn't the point. a scaled quail is the central bird, with a pyrrhuloxia and painted bunting on either side, above a host of blooming cacti. the picture combines both texas rarities and common birds. i'm happy to help if anyone has trouble identifying everything in there.
