the new york public library has made available a huge trove of photographs to the public domain, and i picked this fine image of a farm that's said to have been taken in upstate new york. it was a black and white image but i've colorized it somewhat, along with various other changes, but i like it's limited palette after the manner of andrew wyeth. in the road near the houses can be seen a vintage auto and even a pair of horses hitched to a wagon. the picture likely was taken during the thirties.
