the buttes of mesa verde national park comprise my southern view, those steep ramparts appear in many of my pictures. this was a particularly wet winter season and this picture harkens the early snow of last october. the snow is off the mesa now, but it's still deep in the southern san juan mountains. my image includes a herd of elk.
