a late flight of violet green swallows migrating by day across the rocky mountains. as often happens, it's a mixed flock-- there's a tree swallow in there too. i'm not sure if swallows would leave so late that all the aspens would be at the peak of fall colors, but maybe so if temperatures had been mild.
