typically i create heavily manipulated wildlife and nature art but this one is very different: this one is only lightly retouched. i maintain an animal rescue home with around 20 permanent dogs and an ever-changing roster of dogs and cats coming in as rescues and going out as adoptions. this adorable puppy named 'painter' was photographed playing on the dock out on our pond. he had just been swimming and suddenly erupted in this unbridled glee. assembling a series of the shots, it became known as the "happy puppy dance"-- also suitable as a rain dance.
