mostly an abstract, i enjoyed creating the mixture of hot and cool colors. but living in a rural area we do have springtime controlled burns along fence lines along with a few wildfires which can be terrifying in their speed and potential to harm. i almost painted a bird in flight here, but then it wouldn't be an abstract, and the thought of a bird sitting on her nest until the last possible moment introduced a negative feel--so let's assume this fire is prior to nesting season, okay? here i've imagined being physically very close to a gully burning and being this close you'd surely feel the heat.
