it's the peak of autumns colors down in southwest colorado near where i live. the southern san juan mountains are full of healthy aspen trees that turn brilliant yellow-- and sometimes even red-- in fall. here there has been a bit of rain and the gravel back road is wet and strewn with fallen leaves. there are a few leaves blowing loose and drifting downward toward the old buck rail fence.
