this is road 535 near rico colorado in the southern san juan mountains. it's a charming road to take particularly in the autumn, rising from the valley floor along the dolores river, then switch-backing steeply up the mountainside through mostly aspen forests. here i've shown a burst of light through the golden leaves and across a foreground meadow and the diminishing road.
