i made the mistake of visiting yellowstone in early august when it was overrun with tourists. even getting off the beaten path, one could still hear the rumble of harleys and motorhomes. in a few distant quiet spots i did find wildlife not terrorized by the noise; here along the madison river i've created a nice home for some ducks and these regal trumpeter swans.
